Yesterday, Monday 13th February 2023 marked the launch of the three weeks Substation Operations and Maintenance (SOM) Course that is being conducted by Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC) onsite in Maputo, Mozambique for employees of Electricidade De Moçambique E.P. (EDM) ).

The course, which has 19 participants, will run from Monday 13th February to Friday 3rd March 2023. The course aims to give the participants additional knowledge and skills to enable them to

improve their departments and areas of operation. The SOM course is being run under the auspices of the African Network of Centres of Excellence in Electricity (ANCEE) of which KGRTC is a member and an accredited Centre of Excellence.

Two other courses are currently underway onsite in Maputo under the same programme, and these are the Advanced SCADA Systems Management (SSM-A) and the Generator Inspection and Testing (GIT) courses.
