The Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC), in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), held a planning meeting for the Skills for Energy in Southern Africa (SESA) project on Monday 06th February 2023. The meeting was held in Zambia and aimed to discuss the implementation of the SESA project.

The SESA project is a regional initiative that seeks to strengthen the energy sector's capacity across Southern Africa through training and skills development. The project, which is funded by the Swedish government, is being implemented by the KGRTC in partnership with the ILO and ITCILO.

During the meeting, participants discussed the project's implementation plan, including the development of training programs, capacity building activities, and the establishment of a regional network of energy experts. The meeting also identified the key challenges and opportunities for the project's successful implementation.

The SESA project is expected to benefit professionals in the energy sector, policymakers, and other stakeholders across Southern Africa. The planning meeting provided an opportunity for participants to share their experiences, insights, and perspectives on the project's implementation, and to identify ways to ensure its success.

The KGRTC, ILO, and ITCILO are committed to working together to promote skills development and capacity-building in the energy sector across Southern Africa. The planning meeting is a crucial step towards the successful implementation of the SESA project and achieving its objectives.
