Eng. Martin Hantuli Hamanyanga Appointed Head of KGRTC Copperbelt Campus

Ndola, Zambia – The Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC) has appointed Eng. Martin Hantuli Hamanyanga as the new Head of the KGRTC Copperbelt Campus, formerly known as the ZESCO Training Centre (ZTC).

Eng. Hamanyanga, a seasoned expert in training and research, brings over a decade of experience in capacity building, curriculum development, and skills enhancement. His expertise spans electrical power systems operations and maintenance, engineering applications, safety and quality assurance, as well as corporate governance and leadership development.

Throughout his career, he has been at the forefront of training, consultancy, and project management in the energy sector, with a strong focus on renewable energy, including hydropower, solar, and wind. Notably, he has played a pivotal role in feasibility studies for major KGRTC power projects, such as:

10 MW Hydropower Plant

7.5 MW Wind Power Project

220 kW Chipata Falls Hydropower Initiative

Additionally, he served as the commissioning engineer for a 35 kW mini solar plant in Serenje, Chief Kabamba’s area, and a 15 kW mini solar project at KGRTC in Zambia.

Eng. Hamanyanga’s extensive background includes roles at Mopani Copper Mines as an Instrumentation Engineer, Konkola Copper Mines as a Project Engineer for the Nchanga Smelter, Lafarge as Head of Electrical and Instrumentation, and Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation as a Senior Project Engineer before joining KGRTC.

His vast experience and leadership skills position him well to steer KGRTC Copperbelt Campus in its mission to advance technical expertise in the power sector.
