Introduction

Course Overview

This course covers the essentials of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems. A selection of case studies is used to illustrate key concepts with working examples of PLC systems in electricity, water, and process industries.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide:

  • Participants with the practical techniques and concepts needed to effectively install and programme a PLC.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this training programme, course participants shall be able to:

  • Explain the various components of a PLC System;
  • Design a PLC Programme;
  • Apply the IEC 61131-3 Standard;
  • Identify the Different Network Technologies and Configurations;
