This course will provide participants with practical techniques and concepts involved in overhead line maintenance, safe working practices in the construction and maintenance of overhead lines, procedures related to both live and dead line situations and, principles of safe operation and isolation from live overhead lines.

The objective of this course is to:
· Provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to inspect overhead lines.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this training programme, course participants shall be able to:
· Explain the structure and attributes of wooden poles used in overhead lines;
· Preserve and protect wooden poles from deterioration;
· Identify the different types of steel structures used in overhead lines;
· Inspect in-service wooden poles and accessories;
· Inspect transmission lines on steel structures.
