Introduction

Course Overview

The Applied Industrial Hydraulics course is designed to safely introduce all components, circuits, and principles commonly used in industry, and to fully acquaint the course participants with the principles of hydraulic fluid power. Practical working circuits with many variations will be developed in a laboratory environment. Electro-mechanical demonstrations tie machine fluid power and electrical behaviour together for industrial situations. Also, basic troubleshooting techniques will be addressed.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to:

· Provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to safely work with industrial hydraulic equipment.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this training programme, course participants shall be able to:

· Explain fundamental hydraulic principles;

· Work with hydraulic fluid;

· Identify hydraulic components and symbols;

· Design hydraulic circuits;

· Identify the power section components;

· Explain how hydraulic valves work

· Explain how hydraulic actuators work

· Explain how electro hydraulics work

· Maintain a hydraulic system.
